VIEURESQUE , Claire and Pierre's home
Claire and Pierre first visited the region in 2000, during the Vaour Festival and were at once seduced by it. They were drawn to its varied countryside, its rich complex history, and especially the friendliness and openness of the people. Country living
Vieuresque is a typical Tarnaise farmhouse, outside the village of Campagnac. The environment is superb with views all around. On one side, the villages of Campagnac and Itzac, on the other, the fortified town of Castelnau de Montmiral overlooking a river valley that has hardly changed in two hundred years. Claire and Pierre have developed their personal projects, through engraving, painting, graphic design... and "art de vivre". Together with friends, they have founded "Hangar", a non-profit association, which endeavours to encourage artistic events and bring artists together by organising exhibitions, courses and events at Vieuresque or elsewhere. They enjoy meeting people and take pleasure in welcoming guests to their gîte. They are on hand to help visitors to get as much out of their holiday as possible. They offer information on shops, markets, restaurants – some which aren’t even mentioned in tourist guides. They love the area and know all the local scenic walks and the best places to enjoy sports of all type. |
